The natural caves formed over millions of years offer an insight into how humans thrived in the valley over 50,000 years ago, using the caves for shelter and protection.

The Witches Kitchen:  The legend of the Witch is told that during the Dark Ages people believed that a witch was bringing bad luck to the village and the Abbot at the nearby Glastonbury Abbey came to exorcise the witches spirit. The witch fled into the cave and down a passageway called Hell's Ladder. The Abbot gave chase and upon catching her blessed a handful of water and threw it over the witch, instantly turning her to stone. The frozen figure of the witch remains in the cavern and is know as the Witches Kitchen.

The Witches Parlour:  An amazing natural site, this broad cave was carved out by an underground river over a million years ago and is now the base for cave divers.
